The Pierhouse Digital Asset Library comes with video support so that you can upload, store and share your movie clips. This will become increasingly useful as video becomes a widely used media format.
The system supports all popular formats such as MPEG, WMV, AVI and Flash.
To help you manage your video clips such as when viewing the results of a search, the software will create a thumbnail from the movie clip for you. An example of the software's flexibility is shown by the easy way in which you can choose which frame to use as the thumbnail when you add the video clip to your video repository.
To remove the need to download a full movie based on a thumbnail alone, the software will show a short preview clip in Flash (or MPEG) so that users can decide whether they want to download the video clip without having to download a large movie file.
Video conversion: users can choose to convert the clip to a different video format on download. For example, they can convert to MPEG, AVI or Flash.
